Rock Climbing

Jan 2020 - Please note that Rock Climbing is currently suspended while we seek public liability insurance that covers the sport. In the interim any members that undertake climbing do so on their own account and are not indemnified by Blagss or our insurers.

Blagss Rock Climbers meet regularly at the High Sports Climbing Wall in Withdean Sports Complex.

All of our climbs are organised using our WhatsApp group to ensure that we have the right number of people for climbing and belaying. This also has the advantage that you can arrange your own climbs with other Blagss members.

If you are a beginner, then you need to learn how to climb and belay safely before being allowed to climb with us. This involves instruction and passing a safety test administered by the climbing centre. The best way to do this is by signing up to the introduction to climbing course directly at the centre. Once you have passed your safety test you can e-mail us to be added to the WhatsApp group and join us for some climbs!
