![]() Ishigaki Ju-Jitsu Club (Brighton)Ju-Jitsu is an all round Japanese martial art, ideal for self defence, it encompases throws, locks, chokes, kicks and punches to control or immobilise an attacker. Ishigaki is a non-profit martial arts club for lesbians, gay men and their friends Ishigaki is the largest and most well established gay martial arts club in the United Kingdom. The club started in 1994 and is still going from strength to strength. Over the years we have had hundreds of people from dozens of nationalities come along to train with us. We like to think that our success is due to the fact that we maintain a happy and co-operative atmosphere and we welcome anyone who wishes to train with us and learn good Ju-Jitsu. You may turn up to any lesson, just bring an old t-shirt and track suit bottoms to train in. The first lesson is free to see if you like it. Looking for something different? BLAGSS at Pride
BLAGSS marched in the parade, wearing our brightly coloured BLAGSS T-Shirts. This year's theme was Pride & (No) Prejudice, so we were be holding masks of well known lesbian and gay athletes who are proud of their sexuality, even in what can be a difficult environment.
We were also in Preston Park, where anyone could find out more about BLAGSS, join or renew their membership and buy a BLAGSS t-shirt, with our traditional Pimms party from 4pm.
