WE PLAY GOLF TOO

BLAGSS Golf are a mixed ability group of about fifty women and men. We regularly host rounds of golf, tournaments, practise sessions and social get-togethers. Lessons and clinics are also available for both beginners and improvers.

Our group's aim is to be welcoming, friendly and supportive, regardless of your ability. We just want more LGBT people to play golf! So come join in the fun! Email coordinators Peter or Ali for more details.

10 tips that will improve your golf game

So, how do you become a better player? What is it that you need to know to improve your game and lower your scores, which is the desire of every player who has ever teed a ball, hoisted a club and tried like heck to make the ball go high, straight and, yes, especially long?

Well, short of having a certified PGA teaching professional on your payroll, or taking one to the golf course every time you play. The tips are designed for players of all skill level, but primarily are geared toward the average player. And, with the average score…. over 100, there are plenty of players in search of lessons to improve
their game.

The tips are not listed in order of importance. Also, keep in mind there are other tips that could be more useful to a player's specific need. Still, these lessons represent a compilation of suggestions players should heed if they want to become a better player and shoot lower scores.

BLAGSS at Pride

BLAGSS marched in the parade, wearing our brightly coloured BLAGSS T-Shirts. This year's theme was Pride & (No) Prejudice, so we were be holding masks of well known lesbian and gay athletes who are proud of their sexuality, even in what can be a difficult environment.

We were also in Preston Park, where anyone could find out more about BLAGSS, join or renew their membership and buy a BLAGSS t-shirt, with our traditional Pimms party from 4pm.
